Weight gain should be approximately between 25 and 35 pounds. Only a pound or two usually is gained in the first trimester. After the first trimester, it is important not to skip meals, especially breakfast. The baby needs a fresh supply of nutrients and calories throughout the day.
You should have 3 balanced meals per day with a healthy snack in between meals. Your calorie count should increase approximately 300 cal/day while pregnant. I really don’t want you to be watching the scale and worrying about your weight. Just focus on a healthy balanced diet and the rest will take care of itself. I will let you know if there is a weight concern.
